CHERRY HILL — Cherry Hill High School East football coach Tyler Drob graduated from the school in 2013.

He continued his academic and athletic journey at West Chester University and became a two-time All-American. He returned to his alma mater as a math teacher and recently began his third season as the football team’s head coach.

On Friday night, Drob and his players etched their names into Cherry Hill East history.

The Cougars rattled off 24 unanswered points in the second half to defeat Triton, 31-7, in a West Jersey Football League Memorial Division showdown. Cherry Hill East improved its record to 3-0. It’s the program's first 3-0 start since 2011.

It also marked the first time in program history the Cougars hosted a football game under the lights on Kresson Road.

"It's special," Drob said. "I'm trying to take it all in. I'm sure it'll hit me soon. It's something I've always dreamed about as an alumni. Just to play at night, getting the student section out, getting the community together. It was awesome to have everyone out here tonight and it's a special moment for all these guys."
