As a member of the Wolverines, Swain collected 89 hits including six home runs. During his senior season, he moved from shortstop to catcher and batted .538 with 42 hits and 34 runs batted in. He helped Woodstown win South Jersey Group 1 title before his team fell short to Middlesex on a walk-off grand slam in the Group 1 state semifinals.

He continued his hot streak during the Carpenter Cup as a member of the Tri-Cape team. Swain helped the club capture the first of two consecutive Carpenter Cup crowns. The Woodstown representative was named the Most Valuable Player with a .866 batting average in the tournament.
