EASTAMPTON - The Cinnaminson High School softball team's season was hampered with rainouts throughout the first week.
On Friday, dry conditions granted the Pirates an opportunity to shine.
Cinnaminson pressed it's foot on the gas and didn't let up in an 8-3 win over Paul VI in the first round of the 18th annual Rancocas Valley Elite Softball Tournament on Friday afternoon.
The Riverton Road program was designated as the away team at a neutral site and wasted no time during its first set of at-bats.
The Pirates capitalized in the top of the first inning with back-to-back triples from Salisbury commit Hannah Derbyshire and Delaney Kroll. Ellie Zarnawski continued the outburst with an RBI single before Mia Zuccarelli drove her in on a triple. Makayla Sheker followed up with a triple of her own to plate Zuccarelli. Cinnaminson led 4-0 after one inning.
