AUDUBON - For the past 18 years, the Haddon Township High School softball team was in search of another sectional crown.

Just a year ago, the Hawks finished their campaign as sectional semifinalists with a 5-1 loss to Clayton. The year prior, the Haddon Township fell to Gloucester, 10-2, in the South Jersey Group 1 quarterfinals.

The Hawks finally captured that elusive title with a 5-2 win over Colonial Conference and crosstown rival Audubon in the South Jersey Group 1 final last Saturday. It was the program's first sectional title since 2006.

Siena commit Jordan Strauss tossed a complete game allowing one run and eight hits. She also recorded 10 strikeouts in the contest. It was her fifth straight outing with a double-digit strikeout total. It marked the eighth time this season she struck out 10 or more batters.
