HADDON TOWNSHIP - Since Woodbury's last sectional title in 2023, the program has seen almost a complete overhaul.

Mark DiRugeris took over in 2023 for a second stint and directed the Thundering Herd to a 14-14 record that ended with a first-round exit in the postseason. A year later, DiRugeris' squad ground out a 13-14 record with a schedule intentionally more difficult than the year prior.

The adversity and challenges in the regular season proved to pay off as Woodbury upended Haddon Township in the South Jersey Group 1 final, 49-45.

Devin Williams continued his postseason hot streak scoring a game-high 16 points for Woodbury. Jasuan Solomon added 10 for the Herd.

Axel Mohr posted a team-high 13 points for Haddon Township in the loss.

Woodbury will play Thrive Charter in the Group 1 state semifinal at Monroe Township High School on Tuesday, March 11.
